Read moreHello friends! I hope that your November has gotten off to a great start! November is going to be a busy month for me, which unfortunately, hasn’t helped my anxiety over the last few weeks — that being said, I’m doing all I can this month to keep myself calm and relaxed. Anyway! Even with the busy November (and December) that I have ahead of me, I do have some books that I’m hoping to get read before the year ends, and I figured, how better to keep me accountable than make a post about it?
Grab your favorite snacks, get cozy, and let’s chat about a few books that I’m hoping to get to before the end of 2023!
Read moreHello besties! Happy October — the scary season is officially upon us and I am so excited!
There are so many horror, mystery/thriller, and just autumnal vibe stories that I want to read this month and I thought it would be fun to share with you some books I’m planning and hoping to read this month!
So, get cozy and let’s go through some of my scary season TBR!
Read moreHi besties, happy Thursday! I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe 💜I thought it would be fun to go over what I’ve got on my NetGalley TBR!
This year I’ve been trying to be much more mindful when it comes to requesting ARCs — only requesting ARCs that I’m really excited about as opposed to just anything that sounds interesting, not letting arcs pile up, reading them in a timeline manner (well, mostly), etc, etc.
At the beginning of the year I was doing a really great job of getting through my ARCs. I read 5 ARCs in January alone and while I haven’t read that many in one month again, I have done a fairly good job of keeping my unread ARCs under control. As of now, I have 5 unread ARCs and I thought we’d chat a bit about why I’m excited to read them.
You know the drill — grab your favorite beverage, get comfy, and let’s chat about ARCs!
Read moreWell, I blinked and suddenly we’re six months through the year. While that’s…overwhelmingly disturbing because really, where is the time going — it’s also exciting because there are so many book releases during the last six months of this year that I’m super excited about.
You know the drill, grab your comfort beverage, get comfy, and let’s talk new releases.
Read moreHappy “salt air and the rust on your door” month to all that celebrate! With August comes the end of the summer camp program that I run — we officially wrap up on the 12th — and I’ll be taking some time off work to rest and recharge before starting our fall programs. I’m planning on getting a lot of reading done in the 2 weeks I’ll be off work and I thought it would be fun to share some of my August TBR with all of you!
Read moreHappy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! I think that it’s always so important to celebrate our cultures and heritage, but I think after the last few years it’s extra important to celebrate and uplift the AAPI community.
There are so many exciting new books coming out this year by AAPI authors, so I thought it would be fun to talk about some of the ones that I’m looking forward to!
Read moreHi, hello friends! This week, I have decided to spotlight The Undead Truth of Us by Britney S. Lewis because let me tell you: when Cossette sent me this book on TikTok I knew I had to feature it. While I’m not the biggest fan of zombies, in fact they scare me to high heaven, this book sounds too good not to instantly preorder. This book is releasing on August 9th, and I am anxiously waiting for this to load onto my kindle so I can jump into this thrilling debut by Britney S. Lewis. Here’s the synopsis:
Death was everywhere. They all stared at me, bumping into one another and slowly coming forward.
Sixteen-year-old Zharie Young is absolutely certain her mother morphed into a zombie before her untimely death, but she can’t seem to figure out why. Why her mother died, why her aunt doesn’t want her around, why all her dreams seem suddenly, hopelessly out of reach. And why, ever since that day, she’s been seeing zombies everywhere.
Then Bo moves into her apartment building―tall, skateboard in hand, freckles like stars, and an undeniable charm. Z wants nothing to do with him, but when he transforms into a half zombie right before her eyes, something feels different. He contradicts everything she thought she knew about monsters, and she can’t help but wonder if getting to know him might unlock the answers to her mother’s death.
As Zharie sifts through what’s real and what’s magic, she discovers a new truth about the world: Love can literally change you―for good or for dead.
In this surrealist journey of grief, fear, and hope, Britney S. Lewis’s debut novel explores love, zombies, and everything in between in an intoxicating amalgam of the real and the fantastic.
I cannot wait to get my hands on this book, and if you feel like it’s something you’d enjoy too, there’s links below for where you can preorder!

Happy March, little sprouts and seedlings! I’m so excited to share my TBR for the Animal Crossing Readathon, which I’m hosting with my dear friend Saima. While my normal readathon approach is to go in with a loose idea of what I’d like to read, and just hope the books I read fit prompts, I’ve decided to go in with a more established TBR this time around! I’m really hoping to make a dent in my pile of ARCs this month, and to get more into the swing of reading again.
Read moreI had such a blast putting together my 2021 Releases based off of your favorite Taylor Swift album last year that I knew I had to do it again this year! If you’re new here, I’m Cossette, and I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan, to the point where I roped Caitlyn into doing a book recommendation for every single Taylor Swift song. Just like last year, I wanted to combine two of my loves: Taylor Swift, and books to bring you thirty two of my most anticipated 2022 releases, while assigning them to different Taylor eras! I haven’t read most of these, so it’ll be fun to see how off I am at the end of 2022, once I’ve read these.
