TBR: Books on My Owned TBR That I Want to Read by the End of the Year

October 2, 2025

Hello my sundrops! To quote Maisie Peters, “I wake up and it’s October”. As we’re getting towards the end of the year, I’ve started to not only look ahead to 2026 (doesn’t sound like a real year) and what books I’m looking forward to, but also what books on my owned tbr that I’d like to read before the year is out.

One of my big goals for 2025 has been to get my owned tbr down to 100 books. At this moment, I’m at 135, which really isn’t a horrible number considering the amount of books that I buy throughout the year and the books that I get through the library or ARCs that I get. I do wish I remembered what my owned tbr was at when the year started to see how many I’ve already ticked off the list, but alas, I don’t remember. The thing is, I don’t think I’m going to get to 35 of the books on my owned tbr in addition to all the other things I want to read, so I decided to pick 9 books from my owned tbr that I’m going to prioritize.

TBR: Summerween 2025

June 17, 2025

Friends, can you believe it? Summerween is almost here and I am thrilled! If you don’t know, the Summerween readathon is hosted by Gabby from GabbyReads on BookTube, and it’s a readathon that takes place every summer specifically to read thriller and horror novels. This summer the readathon is running from July 5th – 12th, so there’s still plenty of time to prepare if you want to participate! This will be my 3rd Summerween and I am so excited. I look forward to it every summer (especially all the cute merch!) and I wanted to share my — not at all ambitious… — tbr with y’all!

May 28, 2025

Hi friends, I hope that you’re doing well! This month I’ve gotten an insane amount of Netgalley approvals, so I thought it would be fun to do a little Netgalley TBR and show y’all my list of ARCs! I’m gonna list these in order of publication date, because why not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Get comfy and cozy, and let’s chat!

TBR: 25 in 2025

January 14, 2025

Hi friends! I hope January has been treating you well! Historically, I’ve been bad at these challenges that are the x number of books for x year, but I wanted to try it this time around and split it into 5 categories. For some reason that made it seem less daunting to me than just picking 25 books at random.

So, get cozy, maybe pull up Goodreads or StoryGraph in case there are books on here that pique your interest, and let’s talk about 25 books I want to read in 2025!

NetGalley TBR: ARCs I’d Like to Read by the End of the Year

November 7, 2024

With the exception of the ARC I’m currently reading, all of the ARCs I have are 2025 releases. Most of the time I like to read an ARC either the month before it’s released, or the month it is released, but I have a few that I’m just so excited about that I’d love to read them before the year is out. Most of these actually come out in January, so I’ll be reading them either this month or in December, but I’ve got a few others that are coming out a little later that I can’t wait to read!

Get comfy and cozy and let’s chat 2025 ARCs I’m most excited to read!

Themed TBR: Halloween Season TBR

September 27, 2024

It’s almost Halloween season and I’m so excited! This really is the time of year where all I want to do is sit and read — I mean, that is always, but honestly, from like October to February it being so dark outside so early is really hard for me so all I want to do is read and escape. Anyway, this time of year especially, all I want to do is read dark and scary books; lots of intense mystery/thrillers and a lot of horror novels.

While I have my Fall TBR, I also wanted to do a Halloween themed TBR for the month of October. Now, my mystery/thriller and horror TBRs are never ending, so there were a lot of options for books to be on this list. I then thought “Hey, you’re trying to get your physical TBR down, how about this list is just the mystery/thriller/horror books that you’ve got physical copies of” and then suddenly it became a little bit easier to figure out this TBR!

So, if you’d like to see what scary and spine-chilling reads I want to get to in October, let’s go!

Seasonal TBR: Fall 2024

September 22, 2024

Happy Fall, sundrops! We’ve most definitely still got summer-like weather here, but that’s true until about the end of October. While the weather may not feel like Fall, it officially is, so I thought it would be fun to share my Fall TBR with you!

For my Fall TBR these will be books that I want to get to in the next 2.5 months. This list has a bit of a mix of everything. There’s some romance, mystery/thriller, fantasy, historical fiction…all sorts of things because we all know first and foremost that I’m a mood reader.

If you want to know what books I’m hoping to read this Fall, keep reading!

NetGalley TBR: Recent Approvals

August 7, 2024

Hi hi friends! I realized that aside from reviews, I don’t really talk about what ARCs I have/am reading, and I thought for a chill post today I’d go through my NetGalley ARCs with you!

I’ve had a few approvals recently, so let’s go through them!

TBR: Books I Want to Read During the Olympics

July 25, 2024

Happy 2024 Summer Olympics Eve to all those who celebrate. The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris this year are from Friday, July 26th through Sunday, August 11th and I am SO excited!

I mentioned this in my monthly reset post, but I absolutely love the Olympics. I love sports, I always have — I grew up playing basketball and volleyball (mostly for fun) and played competitive soccer for 6 years (fun fact, I wanted to be a professional soccer player from the ages of 10-14). I’m also a very competitive person, so I love watching the best athletes in the world compete for Olympic gold.

I adore both the summer and winter Olympics, so whenever it’s an Olympic year, the games definitely become a main part of my personality. Because of this, I’ve been wanting to read more sports-focused books (fiction, I am not in the mood for non-fiction at the moment), and of course, I’m leaning toward books that are about Olympic sports. That being said, here are 5 books about summer Olympic sports that I want to read within the next 2 weeks!

Let’s Talk: Summer TBR

June 6, 2024

Alexa, play What Time is It from High School Musical 2 because it’s my favorite time of year, summer! I’ve always loved the summer; when I was a kid I used to go to the beach every Wednesday with my friends, and so many of my favorite memories are from the summertime.

While my summers have gotten busier (and more stressful) the older I’ve gotten, my love for the season has never changed. This summer, and June especially, is going to be super busy for me, and while I don’t typically do monthly TBRs, I do like setting up seasonal TBRs from time to time, so I thought it would be fun to share with y’all some books I’ve looking forward to reading over the summer!
