Let’s Talk: Plans for the End of the Year

November 14, 2025

Hi friends! Now that it’s November, I’m thinking about my end of the year plans — things I want to get done before the end of the year, the books I want to read and prioritize, and my final blog posts for the year.

I thought it would be fun to take some time and go through those things with all of you. Get comfy and cozy and let’s talk about my end of the year plans.

Let’s Talk: Tier Ranking Retellings, Reimaginings, and Books Inspired by Shakespeare

April 23, 2025

Happy birth/death day to my favorite old white man, William Shakespeare! If you’ve been on the blog or talked to me for like 5 minutes then you’ll know that I absolutely adore Shakespeare, it’s maybe a little unhealthy.

Back in July of last year — yes, you read that correctly, July last year — I got the idea to do a ranking of every book I’ve read that is either a retelling, reimagining, or heavily inspired by Shakespeare. Some things I’m not including here are some of the graphic novels that I’ve read — I’ve read some that were the story told as is just in graphic novel format, graphic novel retellings are included in this list. I’m also not including plays, as I feel like that is its own category and maybe will do a post on those ones day.

This is gonna be a long one, besties, you know me once I start talking about Shakespeare related things…grab your favorite beverage and a snack, get comfy and let’s talk about all (well most) the Shakespeare inspired books I’ve read!

Let’s Talk: Read with Me for a Week

February 23, 2025

Hello, gorgeous humans! I hope that you’re all having a lovely Sunday! This past week I’ve had a work from home week — and truly thank God for that because I have been so exhausted and stressed, I’ve needed a week where I’ve just been able to stay in my house as much as I want and work from my bed for most of the day.

With me working from home, I thought it would be fun to do a read with me for a week post where I kinda just tell you all about my week and what I read each day! Whenever I have a work from home week or a week off or whatever, I always have a lot of things that I want to get done, and that was no different this week, but one of my main priorities was getting more reading done.

So, get comfy and cozy, and let’s talk about what this past week was like for me!

Let’s Talk: My Top Reads of 2024

December 29, 2024

With the end of the year comes a lot of lists and reading wrap ups; I’ve done quite a few already myself, but my favorite one to do every year is my top books of the year list!

It was both hard and easy to come up with this list — on one hand I knew some of the books that would be on this list right after I finished reading them, and then others I kinda flipped back and forth on but eventually I figured it out and I’m very happy with how the list turned out. I ended up deciding on 9 books that fall under my top books of the year category and then 8 honorable mentions. What can I say? I read a lot of great books this year! There’s not an order to how these books are listed, I could barely make the list itself, there’s no way I could actually rank them, so in both honorable mentions and top books of the year, the books are listed in the order that I read them.

Get comfy, grab your favorite holiday treat, and let’s go over my top books of the year!

Let’s Talk: My Favorite Things (Winter Edition)

December 21, 2024

Hi besties, it’s officially winter! I both love and hate winter, if I’m being completely honest — I love all the seasons, but with winter comes the dark early nights (it should not be getting dark outside at 4:30 pm) which wreaks absolute havoc on my mental health. Because of that, I make sure to focus on things that bring me a lot of comfort, so that’s the theme for the winter edition of My Favorite Things blog post!

Get cozy, and let’s talk about some of my favorite things to do during the winter!

Let’s Talk: Did I Read All of My 2024 Anticipated Reads?

December 17, 2024

Last year I posted my most anticipated reads of 2024 (shhh ignore the fact that Truly Devious 6 is on here — I think at the time I wrote this there was talk of it coming out this year but it’s actually a different book, Death at Morning House, that Maureen Johnson released this year), and I thought that it would be fun to look back on that post and see if I actually read the books that I put on the list!

Let’s Talk: Books That Surprised Me This Year

December 11, 2024

To me, one of the best things about reading is finding a book that really surprises you. Maybe you had it on your TBR and were really looking forward to it and it somehow was even better than you expected. Maybe you’ve never heard of it before, decided to pick it up on a whim and suddenly you’ve found your new favorite book. Regardless, I love having a new read really surprise me, so today, we’re going to talk about the 2024 reads that did just that!

Let’s Talk: Anticipated Reads of 2025

December 5, 2024

One of my favorite things to do every December is work on my anticipated reads list for the next year. There are so many books coming out in 2025 that I’m excited for, but I managed to narrow the list down to 8 books!

A few of the books that would be on this list I actually have ARCs of already, so they won’t be mentioned in the full list, but I will mention them at the end of the post. Get comfy and cozy and let’s talk about anticipated reads for 2025!

Let’s Talk: My Favorite Things (Fall Edition)

October 6, 2024

Hi friends! Recently I was thinking about things I like to do during this time of year — what books I like to reread, movies/shows to rewatch, my favorite albums to listen to at this time, favorite seasonal activities, things like that and thought it would be a fun blog post! It works as a way to share my favorite things (hence the title, also I hope you all started singing The Sound of Music) for the current season and it’s kind of like a recs post.

So, if you’d like to hear about some of my favorite things for the Fall and want some recs, cozy up with your favorite beverage, snack or something else and let’s chat!
