Hi friends, I hope that you’re doing well! This month I’ve gotten an insane amount of Netgalley approvals, so I thought it would be fun to do a little Netgalley TBR and show y’all my list of ARCs! I’m gonna list these in order of publication date, because why not 🤷🏻♀️
Get comfy and cozy, and let’s chat!

Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox was very kindly sent to me by the publishers and I’m looking forward to reading it! We all know I love a thriller, and I’m especially excited because this one takes place at a renovated cliffside mansion that was once thought to be haunted and shuttered from outsiders…does that not sound like something that is right up my alley? It says that it’s a “fresh take on a classic locked-room whodunnit” and the tagline is “Everyone is invited in. Not everyone will get out alive” yes, absolutely, I would love to come to this party, thank you.

I am so so so excited for Holly Jackson’s adult debut, Not Quite Dead Yet and I think that Holly heard me screaming all the way in the UK when I opened my email and saw the approval on Friday. Y’all know I love Holly Jackson, she writes my favorite mystery/thrillers so I’m really looking forward to seeing her take on an adult thriller. I love this concept and I think the week-long timeline is going to really up the suspense!

I stumbled upon Morbidly Yours at Half Priced Books one day, ended up borrowing it from my library and read it in one sitting well into the night and absolutely loved it, so when I saw the next book in the companion series, Heart Strings, available on Netgalley, I had to request it! There was something about Ivy Fairbanks’ writing that really resonated with me, and I’m so excited to revisit Galway and learn more about Aidan and Lo!

When I’m looking for a solid mystery/thriller that’ll keep me engaged, I turned to Stacy Willingham. I’ve really enjoyed all of her previous books — her atmosphere is fantastic — so I was definitely looking forward to Forget Me Not and was very excited to receive an ARC! I expect that I’ll once again be reading it in one sitting once I start it.

I truly don’t think I’ve ever been as shocked to receive an ARC as I was when I got the ARC of Hot Wax. My jaw literally dropped and was open for a solid 2 minutes; I just couldn’t believe it. We all know how I feel about M.L. Rio’s writing and I’ve been looking forward to this book for so long, I still can’t believe I have a copy of it ready and available to me. I know that I’ll want to take my time with this one and not have many distractions, so I’m probably going to wait a little bit to read it with summer craziness just around the corner, but I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

After seeing Robin rave about Ladies in Hating I knew that I’d have to add it to my TBR, and I was so excited to see that St. Martin’s Press sent me a digital copy! This book has a lot of buzzwords for me; gothic novelists, regency, sapphic…honestly, what’s not to be excited about? I think this one will be so fun and it’s for sure one of the romances that I’m most looking forward to reading this year!

For me, Janice Hallett is doing some of the most interesting things in the mystery/thriller genre. I’ve loved all her previous books; I think her form of storytelling is so compelling — I love mixed media in mystery/thrillers and I’m really excited about her next book, The Killer Question. I’m especially excited about the fact that quiz categories are one of the mixed media elements that she’s using. I’m so curious as to how that’s going to work. I think it’s going to lead to a very fun reading experience!

To be totally honest, I hadn’t heard of A Play About a Curse before I was randomly scrolling through Netgalley one day, but when I saw the title I was intrigued. Then I looked at the summary, and it said that it’s a “literary horror novel following a young playwright who conjures up a true tragedy through a Machiavellian curse when spurned by her mentor” I’m sorry, what? That sounds so intriguing. It also is listed as “part psychological horror and part theatrical fever dream” . It sounds like this one was literally made for me.

At this point I don’t need to know what an Olivie Blake book is about, I want to read it no matter what. When I saw the words “wealthy moms and sorority girls practice a sinister new wellness trend” I was instantly curious. I think that Olivie Blake has some of the best character analysis around, and I’m really excited to see where she takes this one!

Wen-yi Lee’s debut The Dark We Know was one of my favorite books of 2024 (I honestly think about it all the time) so I knew that I’d read whatever she released next. While we know I’m not the biggest fantasy girlie, I’m so excited to read When They Burned the Butterfly! Everything about this book sounds interesting to me, and based on her debut, I’m sure that it’s going to be extremely atmospheric and will have gorgeous writing!

I feel so fortunate to have so many ARCs of some of my most anticipated reads and reads that I’m really excited about! I typically read ARCs close to their release date so that I can post my reviews when the anticipation is really high, but some of these I think I’m gonna have to read asap 🤣
Do you have any ARCs that you’re super excited to read? Or are there any ARCs that you’re dying to get your hands on?
Until next time 💜
