NetGalley TBR: Recent Approvals

June 4, 2026

Hi friends! This month has been pretty crazy, but I’ve gotten some NetGalley approvals recently, so I thought it would be fun to go through some of the ARCs that I’ve got!

I’ve got two ARCs for the months of June and July. 13 Little Love Stories: An Anthology Inspired by Taylor Swift Songs is my June ARC and it comes out on June 30th. This was a NetGalley Read Now option some time ago, and of course I snatched it up. I really love the concept of this anthology, because Taylor’s music always tells a story, so I’m curious to see how these authors use her songs as inspiration and what songs they chose. I won’t lie, I don’t necessarily have the highest hopes for this collection, but there are some authors in it that have written books I’ve really loved such as Crystal Maldonado, Katharine McGee, and Jesse Q. Sutanto.

My most recent ARC that I got sent to me was If Books Could Kill by Kate Eberle. After reading How To Kill a Guy in Ten Dates back in March, I’ve been wanting to read more horror romance, and then If Books Could Kill literally fell into my lap, and I’m so excited about it! I think that horror romance is actually a really fun subgenre to explore, so I’m excited about that and I love the magical realism element that this one has going on. I think this is going to be such a fun read!

August sees two ARCs by authors that I’ve loved before, so I’ve got high hopes for these ones!

I am a huge fan of Joy McCullough. Enter the Body is one of my favorite books and Everything is Poison was such a fantastic read, so I was thrilled to see her next book Suffer a Witch: A Memoir as a NetGalley Read Now option. Her writing is so lyrical and poetic, and from what I understand, this is a memoir written in verse, which makes me extra excited to read it. This is described as being for readers of Know My Name by Chanel Miller and fans of the Broadway play John Proctor is the Villain, I am both of those things, and based on that, I know that this is going to make me cry. Suffer a Witch: A Memoir comes out August 18th, so I’ve got some time until I have to get it read, but writing this has reminded me of how badly I do want to read it!

I was so excited when Atira sent me a copy of The Silent Appeal by Janice Hallett! The Silent Appeal is the sequel to her debut novel The Appeal. I love what Janice Hallett is doing with the mystery genre; her books definitely stand out amongst others in the genre so that always makes reading one of her books interesting. She hasn’t done a sequel before, so I’m curious as to how this one will play out and looking forward to being back with The Fairway Players as they put on an Agatha Christie show!

Earlier this month I was approved for a book that I am so freakin’ excited to read — Thoughts Be Bloody by Auden Patrick. This is his debut novel, so I don’t have a frame of reference from a writing standpoint, but it is a queer, trans retelling of Hamlet so why would I not be excited about it? This is also described as being a twisty dark academia take on Hamlet, so this one really has a lot of my buzzwords. This comes out on September 15th, and I can’t wait!

If you’ve been around the blog or my bookstagram then you’d definitely see through my wrap ups that I’m currently reading through the entire Bakeshop Mystery series by Ellie Alexander. I started reading the series in May 2025, and now at the beginning of June 2026 I’m caught up in the series! I was sent an ARC of the 23rd book in the series, The Pumpkin Vice Cafe, which comes out in September and I’m looking forward to reading it and continuing to follow all the shenanigans that Jules and the rest of her friends get into.

In March, Atira sent me a copy of Please Enjoy Your Stay by Tara Goedjen, which comes out on October 13th. Described as a gothic-tinged thriller and set in a European castle-turned-hotel, this sounds like something that I’ll really enjoy. There’s also a podcast element (though who knows how prevalent it’ll be in the book) so that intrigues me as well.

Another ARC that I have that’s coming out on October 13th is Until The Last Light Goes Out by Courtney Gould. The description saying “a horror story, a love story, and an ode to the pain passed between generations” sounds really intriguing to me. I’ve read a few of Gould’s previous works and had one big hit and a miss for me, so I’m curious to see where this one falls. Regardless of how I felt about the book itself though, something that I always find with Gould’s books is that she writes great atmosphere, and that’s something I’m really looking forward to with this book!

I haven’t been reading as many ARCs lately as I’ve been struggling a bit to read on a screen and am really preferring reading physically since I have to spend so much time on my computer for work, reading on a device isn’t always my favorite, but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things with my ARCs since I have so many that I’m excited about.

Have you gotten any ARCs recently? Are there any ARCs you’re hoping to get? Let me know in the comments!
