Let’s Talk: My Auto Buy Authors

Hi, hello friends! This week I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my auto buy authors. I have a lot of favourite books, and I have a lot of favourite authors, so why not highlight some of them! There’s nothing more exciting than getting a new book from an author you love, and I love clicking “buy now” on the Kindle store for these author’s next releases. Without anything further, let’s get into the list!

1. Erin Morgenstern

Ok, who’s surprised? For those who may not know, I absolutely adore The Night Circus. In fact, it is my all-time favourite book, and The Starless Sea is a close second. I adore everything Erin Morgenstern writes, which is why she is on my auto buy list. Her writing is stunningly beautiful, with rich prose and lush descriptions that transport you effortlessly. Erin Morgenstern is a master storyteller, and everything she writes just gets better and better. I spend days upon days reflecting and thinking about her novels, and I cannot wait to add whatever she creates next to that list. I am anxiously waiting for any sign, hint, or clue about a third book.

2. Emily Henry

Emily Henry is one of the best romance writers to date, and I will stand by that statement. Not only is Beach Read one of my favourite books, but You and Me on Vacation was one of my favourite books of last year. To put it simply, it was a triumph, which makes Emily Henry one of my auto buy authors. Her books are filled with likable characters, interesting plotlines and romance that just makes your heart soar. What I especially love is that Emily Henry tackles romance tropes in a non-cliché way, giving readers tropes they love without the obvious plotlines that come along with them. I am eagerly awaiting Book Lovers this year, and whatever else Emily Henry might bring out next.

3. Elizabeth Lim

Spin the Dawn, Unravel the Dusk and Six Crimson Cranes were some of my favourite books last year, and each of them made Elizabeth Lim an automatic buy for me. Lim writes in a way that is so… magical. You can feel it on every page, with every word, in every scene. Everything she writes is pure magic, and it’s addicting and amazing and I cannot wait to see what she writes next. Not only are her books captivating and interesting, but they are just so easy to fall in love with. You like every character, you get lost in every world she has created, and you finish her books with an empty feeling due to not having the next one to go on with. I need the second book in the Six Crimson Cranes series ASAP, and I am eagerly counting down the days until I can go to a bookstore and buy it.

4. Kalynn Bayron

Kalynn Bayron brings a lot to the YA fantasy genre, and I cannot wait to see what she writes next once the This Poison Heart series is over. This Poison Heart was one of our September picks in teatimereads, and I absolutely adored every minute of it. Not only does Bayron’s writing bring you on a journey you’ll find yourself lost in, but it is so refreshing and beautiful there’s nothing quite like it. I am eagerly and anxiously waiting for the second book in the series, and it’s getting harder each day not knowing how the story is going to continue. Bayron’s writing is so phenomenal that it’ll stick with you days after you finish her books – which is why I am so excited to see where her career takes her. She’s an auto-buy author for me because I know I am guaranteed to adore what she writes, and I cannot wait to pick up what she creates next.

5. Mariana Zapata

I am a sucker for Mariana Zapata books, and I only just discovered them last year. In fact, From Lukov With Love is the reason I started figure skating lessons, and I am adoring every minute of it. I didn’t think I would be a big fan of this particular style of contemporary romance, but I know that if I am ever in a reading slump, or if I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for, Mariana Zapata’s books will help me get back on track. My personal favourite is, of course, From Lukov With Love, but I also love The Wall of Winnipeg and Me and All Rhodes Lead Here, which I have Tik Tok to thank for introducing me to them! I am slowly making my way through Zapata’s collection, and I am loving every minute of it, which is why she has become an automatic buy for me. I just know I’m going to enjoy whatever she releases.
