I can’t believe that we’re almost at the end of the year! Truly, where did the time go? As the year is winding down, I’ve started to think about my usual end of the year wrap up post and it reminded me of how many books I’ve wanted to read this year that I still haven’t gotten to!
I won’t lie, I think I’ve been in the midst of a tiny reading slump lately! Work has been pretty busy the last few weeks, which has made reading a bit more difficult. Besides working through my Nancy Drew reread, I haven’t been reading a lot as of late. Luckily, I’m doing just fine on my reading goal, so I’m not feeling too bad about not getting a whole lot of reading done in the last few weeks. That being said, there are some books that I definitely want to get to before the year is up!
You by Caroline Kepnes
I won’t lie, since the Netflix series of You was released in 2018, I’ve been kind of obsessed. It’s a very intriguing story, and Joe Goldberg sure is a character I love to hate! That being said, I still haven’t read the series. I had thought about reading You via audiobook back when I first watched the series, but with Santino Fontana – a Broadway favorite of mine – narrating, I realized that if I read it via audiobook I would never look at him the same way again. And now, here we are 3 years later and I still haven’t read the series. I binge-watched season 3 in a day recently, so the story is back to the forefront of my mind and I want to finally read the book before the end of 2021.

Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas
Lost in the Never Woods is one of those books that went on my TBR right after it was announced. I bought it right away, but unfortunately, it has just been sitting on my shelf since. There’s no particular reason why I haven’t read it yet, it just seems that other books have captured my attention. But when I thought about this post, this was the first book that came to mind, so once I get energy to read, this will be the first book I pick up!

People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry
I feel like I’m gonna get yelled at because I haven’t read this yet. Personally, I just have to be in the mood to read adult romance and I just haven’t been in the mood. My copy of this book has absolutely been staring at me saying, “Pick me, choose me, love me” and I feel very bad about having neglected it. As so many of my dear friends have absolutely adored it, I know I’m going to love it! I think this is going to be one that I pick up on a dark and gloomy day while I’m longing for summer sunshine.

The Witch Haven by Sasha Peyton Smith
So, uh, remember how I was supposed to buddy read this with Cossette MONTHS ago? Oops…I am sorry that I’m so bad at buddy reading, my buddy reader card should be revoked at this point. I really truly am excited about this book and I’m sure that once I pick it up I won’t be able to put it down…I just have to actually pick it up.

There you have it, 4 books that I want to make sure I read before the end of the year. Are there any books you’re hoping to pick up before the year ends? Let me know in the comments!
