Wrap Up: September 2025

September 30, 2025

We made it to the end of September! I’m gonna be real, at moments this month, it didn’t feel like we’d ever get here, but we did! As you know, with the end of the month comes my monthly wrap up, so let’s get to it!

September was, without a doubt, my worst reading month so far this year. I was in the worst reading slump for most of the month. I felt like it took me forever to get anything read, and I just couldn’t concentrate. That being said, both Hot Wax and The Husbands were absolute hits and I loved them both, but I was really struggling to read and stay focused when reading.

Something exciting that I truly forgot about until my Timehop reminded me was that this month was the 5 year anniversary of the blog! So much has happened since we started the blog in 2020, but I’m so proud of everything that I’ve done since then, and I can’t wait to see what this next year brings!

Books read this month:

  1. Hot Wax by M.L. Rio (ARC, 4.75 stars)
  2. The Killer Question by Janice Hallett (ARC 3.5 stars)
  3. One Dark Night by Hannah Richell (3 stars)
  4. When She Returned by Lucinda Berry (3 stars)
  5. But Not Too Bold by Hache Pueyo (3 stars)
  6. Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix (3.5 stars)
  7. The Husbands by Holly Gramazio (4 stars)
  8. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (reread, 4 stars)
  9. Diavola by Jennifer Marie Thorne (3.5 stars)

Blog posts and vlogs I loved this month:

  • I’m currently reading Xixi Tian’s next release All The Way Around the Sun and I thought that Michelle wrote up a great review!
  • Robin always has great recommendations, so I was super excited to see her Autumn Romance Recs
  • I loved Kayla’s Playing Bookish Connections Games Pt 2 video
  • One of the things that I always look forward to this time of year are Gavin’s Vlogs of Halloween
    • Haunted School Part 1 and Part 2
    • Reading Jamaica Inn in Jamaica Inn

My posts this month:

  • Hot Wax Review

I won’t lie, September was kind of a rough month for me emotionally and mentally. Most days were pretty rough and I was not having a great time for the majority of it. However, the end of the month was better!

My mom and I went to another soccer match and we had a great time! It was the first soccer game that she’d been to since I was a kid playing soccer, and she got really into it! We are for sure already talking about games to go to next season — she for sure wants to go to Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Night and hopes that they have good lumpia. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, and while we could’ve used the win, they put up a good fight and it was an all around really fun match!

This past weekend my mom, sister and I went to see the tour of Les Mis, and for our 4th time seeing the show we were sitting in the front row which was truly incredible! It was also really exciting to finally get to see Lindsay Heather Pearce in a show and she was just as amazing as I thought that she would be. Multiple actors made some acting choices that I hadn’t seen before which I really loved and is one of the reasons why I love seeing the same show so many times.

I’m very much so still obsessed with making air dry clay crafts! I’ve made an avocado trinket dish, a Tangled sun tea light holder, a strawberry worry stone and some other little projects that I’m working on. I’m also working on some other craft projects — I have so many ideas and that’s taking up a lot of my brain power at the moment. I’m having a lot of fun and am for sure planning on making things for holiday gifts. I also did some baking this month. I made some amazing apple cider spiced muffins and I’ll definitely be making them again!

This month has been a little slow with new media. I’ve mostly been rewatching Gilmore Girls (yes, again, it’s basically on year round for me). I’m having a lot of fun watching the new season of The Great British Baking Show and I was eagerly awaiting every Wednesday for the rest of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Music wise, I’ve still been listening to Man’s Best Friend and loving it more and more as I keep listening to it. Perrie released her debut album Perrie on the 26th and I love it. It’s a 10/10 album for me and I’m so excited to memorize every song.

Honestly, I am happy to say goodbye to September and am hoping that October is kinder.

Let me know how September was for you in the comments! What did you read? Did you do anything exciting? Tell me all the things!

Until next time 💜

Even if I don’t finish a book in a month, it is great to say I made progress (tend to be a medium-paced reader). Just like you, I saw a musical in September–it was Little Shop of Horrors at a local theater.
