Hello besties, it’s my last post of the month so you know what that means — it’s wrap up time! Grab a cup of your preferred beverage, get cozy, and let’s chat about May!
This has been a bit of a slower reading month, but really, I’m not too mad about it. I read so much so quickly in April, and my work days are much more hectic and demanding this month so I’m not really able to listen to as many audio books as I normally do. I am terribly behind on my reading goal according to Goodreads, but it’s okay. I’m being pretty ambitious with my reading goal this year considering my schedule. I do think that I can make up those books, especially if I plow through some audiobooks, but I’m focusing on quality over quantity at the moment and I think that’s making my reading more enjoyable. That being said, I’ve read 12 books so far this month, and my favorites have been:
- Chloe and the Kaishao Boys by Mae Coyiuto
- Ghosted by Amanda Quain
- Happy Place by Emily Henry
- The Mad Women’s Ball by Victoria Mas
- The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson
- Never Vacation with Your Ex by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka
Blog posts and vlogs I loved:
- I loved Racquel Marie’s debut novel Ophelia After All, and have been eagerly awaiting her next book, You Don’t Have a Shot. I was already excited because I will read any book involving female soccer players, and Michelle’s review definitely amped up my excitement!
- If you’re a theatre fan and are planning a trip to New York and want to know the best and most affordable ways to purchase tickets, definitely check out Helena’s post on Tips and Tricks for Cheap Theatre Tickets!
- MegWithBooks always has some really fun videos and recently I loved her First Sentence Challenge video where she had her partner Tom read the first sentence of some books on her shelves. This video cracked me up and I tried to play along and had a great time while doing so! This definitely made me want to try this with someone!
- I had received an ARC of Rubi Ramos’s Recipe for Success a while back, but with general work/life craziness I didn’t get around to it before the release date, but I am really excited to read it! I love Maddie’s (Inking & Thinking) interview with the author of Rubi Ramos’s Recipe for Success, Jessica Parra, and it has made me even more excited to read it!
My posts this month:
- Shakespeare Reading Wrap Up
- This is Not a Personal Statement Review
- Mini Reviews of Recent 5 Star Predictions
To be totally honest, this month has been kind of boring because it’s just been filled with work! Summer camps start on the 12th, so my work days have been filled with final interviews for staff members, editing vocal tracks for musical theatre camps, writing scripts, and confirming minor details with location contacts. I haven’t really had time for much else!
While the majority of this month has been boring, the end of the month will not be! I’m headed to the airport tonight to go visit Helena for our first in person visit since 2019! I’m so excited to see Helena and spend some in person time with my best friend, and her husband and their pets. We’ll also be seeing some musicals that I’m super excited about, so I’ll be sure to update you all on my trip in next month’s wrap up!
I won’t lie, this month has felt very “head empty, no thoughts” so, this is definitely not my chattiest monthly review, however, I am always eternally grateful to all of you who take the time to read it.
How was the month of May for you? Let me know in the comments. Until next time!

I will be excited to hear about the shows you see! I totally feel you on the reading front, life has been very busy so I have not read that many books, but that is just how it is sometimes.
