Hi, hello friends! I cannot believe time is moving so quickly – I feel like I blinked in June and now we’re at the end of the year already! It’s getting to that time again where I’m thinking ahead to my 2022 reading goals, and organising my life to make my reading journey as fun and engaging as I can. However, before doing that, I thought it would be fun to participate in this book tag! Admittedly nobody tagged me in it, but I saw Kristin Kraves Books post about it, and it seemed like a lot of fun, so here we go!
- Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I started reading The Diviners by Libba Bray this year, and for some reason put it down about one third into it. I’m not sure why, considering I was absolutely loving it. I think it’s because it’s a very chunky book, and carrying it around in my backpack was becoming inconvenient, so I might pick it up again on my Kindle to improve the reading experience! I do really want to read this series because I just know I’m going to love it, but if I don’t get to it this year, onto the 2022 tbr it goes!
- Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
It’s actually summer here in Australia, so I haven’t been reaching for any Autumnal books! That being said, who would I be without recommending The Night Circus for this time of year. It’s the perfect autumn/winter read, and it’s almost guaranteed to make you feel cozy while reading it. Full of beautiful descriptions, thrilling magic, and romance that just makes your heart burst, The Night Circus is my pick for an autumnal book! However, I bet we’re all not surprised this is my answer all things considered.
- Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Book Lovers by Emily Henry! Luckily this one is a 2022 release so I don’t have much longer to wait, but I am so excited to get my hands on this one. Emily Henry is one of my favourite authors, and I just know she is going to blow us away again with her new novel. If you haven’t read Beach Read or You and Me on Vacation (People We Meet on Vacation for those not in Australia), do yourself a favour and read them before the end of the year – you definitely won’t regret it!
- What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee, Little Thieves by Margaret Owen, and Legendborn by Tracey Deonn! I’ve heard brilliant things about all three of these novels, and I cannot wait to dive into them. Now that I have finished university I have more time after work to read, so I’m hoping to get through these ones quickly before the end of the year!
- Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
I don’t think so, no! I’m very confident in the five I selected as contenders in a previous post, which you can find here! I think about these books a lot, and I cannot wait to spend some time in 2022 rereading them to remind myself why I loved them so much. That being said, everyone has told me I am going to be obsessed with Legendborn, so that could potentially sneak its way onto my list.
- Have you already started making reading plans for 2022?
My main plan for 2022 is to read 100 books, and come back to Instagram! I think now that I have more free time I can dedicate myself to creating content for Instagram, and be proud of what I’m creating. Beforehand it felt almost like a chore despite loving the platform, so I want to redesign and reimagine my platform and make it a bit more exciting to post on! I’ll definitely let everyone know when I do!
And there we have it! This was a super fun book tag to participate in, and I hope whoever sees this and wants to participate does. For that reason, I’ve decided not to tag anyone as to not exclude those who may want to participate. But, if you do join in, be sure to tag us so we can read your answers!
Have a lovely day!
