Honest to God, this month absolutely flew by! Like, I truly don’t know where October went? October took like 2 seconds and the end of the year only gets busier for me. Anyway, let’s chat about October!

Well, if I thought my August slump was bad, the October slump has been worse. I don’t know what it is! I have so many books that I’m super excited about reading, but I’m slogging through practically everything unless it’s my Percy Jackson rereads apparently, even if it’s something I’m enjoying. Because of this, I didn’t read much towards the end of the month, in the hopes that I can get back into the swing of things in November and end the year strong.
Books read this month:
- The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (reread, 3.75 stars)
- The Velvet Knife by Maureen Johnson (4 stars)
- The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (reread, 4 stars)
- The Atlas Complex by Olivie Blake (3 stars)
- A Death in the Dark by Ellie Alexander (3 stars)
Blog posts and vlogs I loved this month:
- Kayla’s video where she used a number generator to pick a book that she’s read and see how much of it she could remember was super fun! I feel like if I tried to do this I would totally fail, but it was very fun to watch her do it!
- Loved Gavin’s Halloween episode of Snake Across My Bookshelf
- I love Mack and Michael, and am enjoying Mack’s vlogs of their road trip from California to Florida.
My posts this month:

As I mentioned before, this month really went by in the blink of an eye, but overall it was a pretty good month! I helped out for the show that my best friend directed and it went great! I worked on a few craft projects — some for work, some gifts and some for fun and am really happy with how they turned out.
I got to see a live (professional) musical for the first time since May! I finally got to see The Phantom of the Opera live and it was wonderful! The production value was so beautiful and the cast was amazing. My mom and I had a great time at the show. I got lunch and did some book shopping with my mom, aunt and uncle. I also went to Ann Liang’s book event for To Dream In Darkness which was lovely!

I did not consume too much new media this month. I did just finish watching the new adaptation of Carrie and overall I enjoyed it. TBH, I haven’t actually read Carrie, but I’ve seen the original movie, read a Carrie retelling and know the musical/know the story in general. I thought the modern setting worked well, and the cast was stellar. I was super confused at first when I saw that it was renewed for a second season, but now that I’ve watched it I understand and I am curious as to what season 2 will look like.
Of course, I’m loving Noah Kahan’s song Draw You Out for the Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack. It’s so beautiful and it perfectly captures Haymitch. I’m excited to listen to the rest of the soundtrack and of course can’t wait to see the movie. I went through true hell to get tickets, but I have them and will be seeing it on the 18th next month!
Aside from new weekly episodes of my shows that are currently airing and the World Series, NWSL and WNBA Finals, this month I rewatched some of my favorite Halloween movies and TV shows and stuff that gives me general Halloween vibes.

And that’s all for October! I’d love to know the highlights of the month for you! November is going to be a busy month with work and general life things, but I’m sending out some good vibes into the universe!
Until next time 💜
