Monthly Wrap Up: November 2024

November 30, 2024

Hi friends! Another month has come and gone. November has been a pretty stressful month to be honest. I kind of feel like I experienced this entire month in a stress induced haze, but let’s talk about how the month went for me anyway!

Oh, my besties, this month was ROUGH for me, and that is heavily reflected in my reading stats. I haven’t really had much time and/or brain power to read, so I only got to 6 books this month, which I know is a very respectable number, just very low for me. In fact, this is the lowest number of books I’ve read this year.

Books read this month:

  • Dinner for Vampires by Bethany Joy Lenz (unrated)
  • Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake (2.5 stars)
  • A Bánh Mì for Two by Trinity Nguyen (3.5 stars)
  • Merriment and Mayhem by Alexandria Bellefleur (3.5 stars)
  • A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston (3.5 stars)
  • Guilt and Ginataan by Mia P. Manansala (4 stars)

Blog posts and vlogs I loved this month:

  • I loved Katharine McGee’s American Royals series, and I was very excited to hear about her next book, A Queen’s Game. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but Helena and I have discussed it a bit and I’ve read her review, and I’m very curious to read it/see what I think!

My posts this month:

  • ARCS I’d Like to Read by the End of the Year
  • Everything is Poison Review
  • Bookish Gift Ideas

Wow, it’s been an insanely busy month for me. Lots and lots going on at work (and lots of stress and practically an entire month of sleeping poorly) but there have been some good moments this month! I got to see two touring shows this month – Kimberly Akimbo and Come From Away – two shows that I really do love, so it was great to see them. Especially Kimberly Akimbo, as I finally got to see Carolee Carmello in a show and I’ve wanted to see her in person for years.

Most of this month really has been focused on work, but I started coloring in one of my musical theatre coloring books and it was SO relaxing. I need to be better about carving out time to do some relaxing, low stress activities to unwind after work.

I finally got around to watching Twisters this month, and I totally get the hype! I really loved it and I’m sure I’ll be watching it often. If you feel it, chase it indeed! While this month has been super stressful, something that has given me so much joy has been watching The Great British Baking Show. I absolutely loved this season, and while I’m so sad that it’s now over, I promise you that I will be watching this season multiple times because I loved all the bakers this season so much.

Music wise it’s the same as always. I mostly listened to Niall and Kelsea Ballerini’s latest album, Patterns. I’m really obsessed with the album, and have been listening to it a lot lately. I’m really liking Megan Moroney’s album, Am I Okay?, so I’ll be listening to more of that. I also (finally) got around to listening to Chappel Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (shut up, sometimes I have a hard time listening to new music) and absolutely loved it. A stellar album all around, so I’m sure it’ll be in heavy rotation for the next few months. As always, you can check out my top 10 monthly favorites playlist.

November was kind of a rough month, and truthfully, I’m happy to be looking at it from the rear view mirror. This month left me feeling pretty crappy, but I’m releasing all of that negative energy as we head into December and the holiday season which is something I look forward to every year.

Let me know how your November was in the comments!

Until next time 💜
