Ah, and here we are. The first “ber” month of the year! You know, lots of people now are posting about fall and how excited they are for the season and cooler weather and pumpkin everything and I’m sitting here thinking “it’s still summer weather here and will be until probably the end of October. I’m still in summer mode!” 🤣
I may still be in summer mode and will be soaking up the sun as much as possible, but it is September now, so you know what that means. It’s monthly reset time! So, sit back and relax and let’s talk about what I’ve got planned for September.
To be honest, I’ve got no clue what I’m doing this month…I’ll probably share some reviews as I’ve got some anticipated releases coming out this month, but other than that I’m not too sure! I’m trying to come up with some creative posts, but I do think I’m a little burnt out, so it may be a more review focused month and there may be fewer posts this month than I did in July and August.
I’m back to work on Tuesday after about 3 weeks vacation, so the beginning of the month will be easing myself back into work (only slightly terrified to check my inbox). Luckily, our studio classes don’t start until the week of the 16th, so I’ve got time to prepare for those, and the classes that start at the beginning of the month were fully or mostly planned before I took time off and the final details were finished my the rest of my team, so I don’t have to worry about those.
As of now, I don’t really have too many things planned for the month, and after a busy summer that sounds very nice! I’m sure some fun things will come up throughout the month though, they always do!
Right now, the most exciting thing I’ve got going is going to Allison Saft’s book event for A Dark and Drowning Tide mid-way through the month. I got my ticket on Friday, and I’m really looking forward to it. This year is turning into the year of book events for me!
I also want to find some time this month to really sit down and work on my theatre journal. I had wanted to do this while I was on break from work, but of course, that didn’t happen. However, I should have time this month to get this done, and my next show won’t be until at the earliest October, so I’ve got some time to work on my journal spreads, which is good because I have 13 shows to journal about…
It’s finally September which means that Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio will be coming out! Ugh, I am SO excited for this book, as I’m sure you all know because of how much I love M.L. Rio’s writing style. I can guarantee that once that book is in my hands, I will be dropping everything to read it.
I’ve got some September ARCs that I’m planning to read this month — I meant to get to them last month, but I lost some reading motivation towards the end of the month and even though one of my September ARCs (Blue Sisters) comes out on Tuesday, I decided not to push myself to read when I wasn’t feeling it to make sure that I was actually able to enjoy reading. My September ARCs are Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors, The Examiner by Janice Hallett (releasing on September 10th) and Queen Macbeth by Val McDermid (releasing on September 24th). All of these are books that I’m very excited for, so I’ll be prioritizing them this month!
And there you have it! At the moment it’s looking like September will be a pretty chill month, and I’m not mad about it! What do you have planned for the month of September?
Until next time 💜
