Hello, hello, happy December my friends! I hope that you’re all doing well. I know I say it every month, but I truly can’t believe we’re now in the last month of 2023??? This year went by SO quickly!
You know the drill, get comfy and cozy with your favorite winter beverage and blanket and let’s chat!
November was a slow reading month for me. In part, it was because I started rehearsal for the show I’m directing, so that has taken up most of my focus, but I also didn’t have the general reading momentum I typically have. And that’s okay! Most of the latter half of 2023 has been me coming to terms with the fact that some months I will have less energy to read, and that’s okay!
This month I read 8 books, and my favorites were:
- The Fall of Whit Rivera by Crystal Maldonado
- The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (reread)
- The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
- I Hope This Doesn’t Find You by Ann Liang
Blog posts and vlogs I loved this month:
- Okay, I’m not the biggest Wizard of Oz fan (really just the musical, I have bad memories associated with being in the musical, but I have fond memories of watching the film and of course love Cossette’s dog Toto) but I LOVED Gavin’s reading vlog where he read the whole series. That intro? Absolutely iconic.
- Is it a Caitlyn wrap up post without a Helena shoutout? The answer is no, and here’s another one! I haven’t read anything by Helena Greer yet, but knowing that Helena has enjoyed both Seasons of Love and For Never and Always makes me excited to read them! Here’s Helena’s review of For Never and Always that you should definitely check out.
My posts this month:
November went by in a whirlwind. Honestly, I don’t really know where the month went. In November I started rehearsal for A Christmas Carol that I am directing (we actually have tech tonight and shows Friday and Saturday) as well as getting ready for auditions for a school musical that I stage manage and produce, so work has been pretty busy and that was my main focus.
I went to the Dickens Fair with my sister and brother-in-law and had the best time! They’ve never been before, but I had and it was so fun to go again. While I was there I bought a few gifts for people, as well as a BUNCH of Shakespeare stuff from the vintage bookstore there and I’m obsessed with all of it. We had some really yummy food and drinks, and it was fun to just hang out and enter this little Dickens Christmas village. We watched a few of the shows and carolers, and they had a mystery activity going on where you could solve a mystery for Sherlock which I obviously did. He was impressed with my sleuthing skills and now we’re best friends.
The rest of the month was pretty chill since, as I mentioned, I was mostly busy with work so I spent a lot of my time outside of work just relaxing at home.
How was your November? What was your favorite thing you did and what books did you love? Until next time!

Love you and am always honored by your shoutouts
