Hello friends! I hope that your November has gotten off to a great start! November is going to be a busy month for me, which unfortunately, hasn’t helped my anxiety over the last few weeks — that being said, I’m doing all I can this month to keep myself calm and relaxed. Anyway! Even with the busy November (and December) that I have ahead of me, I do have some books that I’m hoping to get read before the year ends, and I figured, how better to keep me accountable than make a post about it?
Grab your favorite snacks, get cozy, and let’s chat about a few books that I’m hoping to get to before the end of 2023!
The Dead Romantics and The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
Coco literally raved to me about both The Dead Romantics and The Seven Year Slip so I knew that I had to add them to my TBR asap! I’ve found that I really enjoy reading romance books in November, so I’m hoping to get to both of these during Thanksgiving break.
Fair Rosaline by Natasha Solomons
You know the drill by now, it’s related to Romeo and Juliet so I’m reading it. Rosaline has always been a character that’s interested me — mostly because we don’t know anything about her. I’m excited to read a story about her since so much is open for interpretation, and Helena thought this was great, so my hopes are high!
Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes
I was given a copy of Stone Blind for my birthday back in March, and I’ve really wanted to read it, but just haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve always been interested in Medusa’s story, and I’ve heard lots of great things about this book, so I’m excited to read it.
The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland
Krystal Sutherland’s House of Hollow was one of my favorite reads of 2021, so I was absolutely thrilled when I won an ARC of her next book, The Invocations. Krystal Sutherland is so good at writing really atmospheric stories, so I can’t wait to see what this book has in store for me!
Manslaughter Park by Tirzah Price
I loved the first two books in the Jane Austen Murder Mystery series, Pride & Premeditation and Sense and Second Degree Murder, so I’m really excited about Manslaughter Park. However, Mansfield Park is probably the Jane Austen novel I’ve read the least, so I’m also going to have to do a Mansfield Park reread before diving into this one.
A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft
I love Allison Saft’s lyrical writing, and while I’m not the biggest fantasy girlie, I find it so easy to get lost in Saft’s fantasy worlds. I’ve had an ARC of A Fragile Enchantment for a while, but haven’t had the time to read it. As the book comes out in January, I’m going to make sure that I get this one read before the end of the year.
Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date by Ashley Herring Blake
Ashley Herring Blake’s Bright Falls series is one that I really enjoy, and ever since the first book, Delilah Green Doesn’t Care, my favorite character in the series has been Iris Kelly. So, obviously, I’m so excited to read her book, plus, there’s a Shakespeare element to it, so it sounds like something I’ll definitely have fun reading.
I Hope This Doesn’t Find You by Ann Liang
Ann Liang is quickly on her way to becoming one of my favorite authors — her last two books If You Could See the Sun and This Time It’s Real, were 5 stars for me, so of course, I’m so excited for her 2024 release, I Hope This Doesn’t Find You. I was approved for an ARC of this one last week and I can’t wait to dive in!
And there you have it! The 9 books that I’m hoping to finish before the end of the year. Have you read any of these books or do you have any on your TBR?
Until next time!
