Wrap Up: March 2021

March 31, 2021

Hello friends! We hope you’re all keeping well, and that March was a nice month for you. This month Caitlyn read 11 books, Cossette read 12 number books, and Mary read 4 books. Looking forward to April, we are super excited to be reading Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers for the teatimereads book club!

I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but March has been an odd reading month for me. While I have finished 11 books, I went through about a week and a half where it was difficult for me to read more than 1 chapter of any given book, and then finished 2 books within two days.  Although this month was a bit of an odd one, I did read some really lovely books! My favorites of the month were House of Salt and Sorrows, A Pho Love Story – which you can read my review for here – A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder and the sequel Good Girl, Bad Blood. I also read three more Shakespeare plays. I did rereads of Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet, and read The Tempest for the first time. I’m April I’m hoping to reread some favorites, get caught up on ARCs and read Honey Girl for teatimereads!

Posts I Loved Reading:

  • I absolutely loved Perfect on Paper and I thought that Quinn’s review of it was just lovely!
  • I loved checking out Angele’s post on books by Asian authors that she loves. I saw some favorites and a bunch to add to my tbr!
  • I’ve been looking forward to reading Sweethand so I was super excited to read Becca’s review and hear that she enjoyed it!

I think I’m finally out of my reading slump! I read 12 books this month, which isn’t as much as I read each month last year, but I’m currently still ahead of my Goodreads challenge at 39 books. I reread some favorites this month — Down Comes the Night, and The Night Circus, and I also found new favorites in Rachel Lynn Solomon’s We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This and Malinda Lo’s Last Night at the Telegraph Club! Another book I really enjoyed was Fat Chance, Charlie Vega, which I really wanted to read after reading Cait’s review and hearing how much it meant to her. Next month, I’m hoping to get caught up on ARCs (I may have accidentally requested too many), and I’m super excited to reread Honey Girl for teatimereads!

Posts I Loved Reading:

  • I loved Birdie’s review of Down Comes the Night! I always love seeing what people think about my favorite books, and I’m so glad that Birdie loved Down Comes the Night as much as I did!
  • My dear friend Saima started up their blog this month, and I couldn’t be happier for them! Saima has a beautiful way with words, and I’ve always loved reading their reviews on Goodreads. Their The Atlas Six review is what made me finally pick it up, although it’s temporarily on hold while I get caught up on my ARCs.
  • Saniya’s interview with Aamna Qureshi has me even more excited for The Lady or the Lion to come out!
  • The Ones We’re Meant to Find was already on my highly anticipated list, but reading Gauri’s review has made me even more stoked!

Another slow reading month for me! Unfortunately, I just didn’t feel like reading at all this month. In total, I read 4 books, and I loved them all! I read three new books and one re-read, and. My favourite of the month had to be Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo, a beautiful coming-of-age story set in 1945 San Francisco. I won’t go into detail about my thoughts, but you can read them here in this review! I’m super excited to read more books in April, especially the teatimereads pick for April, Honey Girl!

  • Last Night at the Telegraph Club: Goodreads | TheStorygraph | Bookshop | Indiebound

Posts I Loved Reading:

  • Celina’s review for Burn Our Bodies Down was a super lovely read, and I’ve definitely added it to my tbr!
  • I loved reading J’s review of The Starless Sea! I love reading people’s opinions on one of my favourite books!
  • I really enjoyed Mel’s review of If I Disappear, and it’s another one that I have added to my tbr!
