i can’t believe june is already over!! i hope it’s been kind to you, that you’ve had a lot of good reads, and you’re doing well 🤍 it’s getting warmer here in seattle, so grab something cool — or if it’s getting chilly where you are, grab a cup of something warm, and get cozy!
at the beginning of june, i asked one of my dear friends to pick a number between one and twenty five, and that was going to be my reading goal for the month. they picked twenty three, and i’ve read exactly 23 so far! i’m hoping to squeeze at least one or two more books in before the end of the month, but we’ll see how things go. some standouts were the missing of clairedelune by christelle dabos, thank you for listening by julia whelan, and ghosts by dolly alderton. i also made some headway into the ARCs and gifted books that i let pile up over time. i’ve come to realize that i’m a little bit burnt out from reading and content creating, and so i’m going to intentionally take a break from reading next month, or at least, reading as many books.
here’s a full list of what i read this month:
- The Final Revival of Opal and Nev by Dawnie Walton (★★★☆☆)
- The Missing of Clairedelune by Christelle Dabos (Audiobook; ★★★★★)
- Happy Place by Emily Henry (Reread; ★★★★★)

i also realized this month that i’ve done a very poor job of balancing my media — i haven’t really watched a lot of television, or movies this year, so i’m going to be taking some time to watch some things my friends have been telling me to watch for ages! i think i’m going to start with the bear, which i’ve heard is phenomenal, but if anyone has any shows/movie recs, let me know!
lately, i’ve been mostly listening to maisie peters’ new album, the good witch — it’s all i’ve really been listening to since it came out, but i’ve also been listening to a lot of sabrina carpenter, taylor swift, the japanese house (i’m so stoked for their new album, which comes out at the end of june), and my other usual artists that i scream about always!
i’m super excited for july for many reasons, but primarily: speak now taylor’s version, and more importantly, i’ll be going to the eras tour with some of my favorite people! i feel like i’ve been waiting forever to see taylor again, and i am just so, so excited. i’ll also be seeing gracie abrams and haim open for her, which is surely a treat, as well as gracie’s seattle acoustic set!
in case you’ve missed it, here are some posts i wrote this month:
- 10 LGBTQIA+ Books that Coco Thinks Needs More Love
- ARC Review: Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date By Ashley Herring Blake
- ARC Review: Where Echoes Die by Courtney Gould
and some posts i loved reading:
- I’m so out of the loop now that I’m not on twitter as much, so I always look forward to anticipated release round ups! May of foreverandeverly put a bunch of books to my radar!
- Amanda’s reviews are always so well-written, and have so much heart in them! I immedately added Gloria Buenrostro is Not My Girlfriend to my TBR after this review.
- Gauri’s list of Queer Books by Asian Authors: 2023 Releases also brought a bunch of book to my radar, and I really appreciate how Gauri added why these books stood out!
