Hi friends and happy holidays to those who celebrate! Yet another month has passed and we are so excited to share with you what we read this month. Overall, it was a very successful reading month for the entire team of teatimelit, and we cannot wait to see where December takes us.
This month Caitlyn read 19 books, Cossette read 10 books, and Mary read 6 books.
If we’re being completely honest, this has not been a great reading month for me. Even though I ended up reading 19 books, my motivation to read was definitely low. The majority of my reads were rereads and I did a lot of reading via audiobook. I reread some favorites such as, Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong, Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon and the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson. Additionally, I read my ARC of Crystal Maldonado’s next book, No Filter and Other Lies. In December, I’m hoping to get to some ARCs that I’ve (accidentally) been neglecting, as well as some fun holiday reads!

Posts I Loved Reading:
- I am absolutely obsessed with baking. I loved baking as a kid and in the last year and a half I’ve rekindled that love — shoutout to The Great British Baking Show for getting me through the last year and a half. When I saw Jen’s post on 35 Young Adult Books Featuring Food, Cooking or Baking I immediately became obsessed and added many of these books to my TBR.
- I am always down for some cute fluffy romance stories, and it sounds like The Meeting Point by Olivia Lara will be just that! It’s set in a cute little beach town and has the secret pen pals trope, which is one that I think is super adorable! This book sounds adorable and Jovana’s review has made me really excited to read it.
- I’ve been really looking forward to Rachel Lynn Solomon’s latest novel Weather Girl, and my best friend, Helena, wrote a lovely review that made me even more excited.
Despite reading 10 books this month, November has been a very slow reading month for me. Instead of reading, I’ve spent a lot of time crying over Red (Taylor’s Version), and playing Animal Crossing. While I didn’t read a lot of books this month, I really enjoyed the books I did read, including Margaret Owen’s Little Thieves, and even discovered a new favorite — Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li. I also listened to more audiobooks than I have before in one month, by listening to The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater, Hana Khan Carries On by Uzma Jalaluddin, and Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta. Next month, I’m hoping to get more back into reading, and actively tackle some of my ARCs!

Posts I Loved Reading:
- I’ve been eyeing Tidesong ever since my cousin sent me a message about it, especially with that cover, and Jessica’s review of it only bumped it up my TBR more!
- Saima’s Top 10/100 books I’ve read this year was such an interesting and unique post, and I can’t wait to steal this idea for myself! And I’m so glad that some of my own favorites made the list too!
- Our Violent Ends was one of my favorite reads of 2021, and a wonderful sequel to one of my favorite duologies, and Robin’s review so poetically describes what I love most about it.
- Kaya’s discussion on Bookstagram & Booktok’s accessibility was so important, and I’m so glad I came across it in my scroll!
- Lia’s reviews are always so beautifully written, and some of my favorites, and so I especially enjoyed her review of Daughter of the Moon Goddess.
I’m not quite sure how I managed it, but I read 6 books this month! Not all of them were great, which is to be expected, but I’m so happy to see my reading life get back on track. Honestly, my favourite book this month has to be An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This book was so wonderful, and reminded me why I love fantasy as much as I do. I wrote a full review of it here which goes into more details, and I cannot wait to pick up the second book in December. Another one of my favourite books this month has to be A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout! It’s no secret I absolutely adore the From Blood and Ash series, so diving into a prequel series has been an absolute joy. I cannot wait until book two comes out, but I’m the meantime I might reread the original series for a third time this year just so I can stay in the world Armentrout has created. Here’s hoping for another successful reading month to close out the year, and here’s hoping I make it to 100 books!

Posts I Loved Reading:
- Amy Leigh over at amyleighreads gave us an update on all the series they have DNF’ed, and it was super interesting to hear their brief thoughts about the various books
- I loved seeing what Amber read in September! I’ve definitely added some of those books to my own personal tbr!
Thank you so much for reading this post, we cannot wait to let you know what we read to close out our year! Have a magical day!
