And yet another month has flown by, and we cannot believe we are so close to the holiday periods starting! We’ve been loving the books we’ve been reading lately, and we are so excited to be sharing with you some of our favourites today in this post! Without further adieu, let’s get started!
This month Caitlyn read 21 books, Cossette read 24 books, and Mary read 5 books.
This has been an odd month for me, truthfully. While I ended up reading 21 books, I started off pretty slowly. I think I was a bit wiped out from last month and all of my Theatreathon reading and my work schedule has just been completely crazy lately which hasn’t left too much time for reading. I started rereading the Nancy Drew series for my Childhood Favorites series, and that has been so much fun! I’m looking forward to continuing to do so in November. I did a lot of rereading this month, and my favorites – besides my Nancy Drew rereads – were Not Here to Be Liked, You Have a Match and Macbeth. I also really enjoyed It Happened One Summer and When Night Breaks. Next month, I’m looking forward to reading TeaTimeReads November pick, Before the Coffee Gets Cold, but other than that I’m keeping my TBR pretty open!

Posts I Loved Reading:
- I’m 100% one of those people who, after Halloween is over, is completely ready for the Christmas and the Holiday season. I’ve been very excited for The Holiday Switch, as it’s by a Filipino author and has Filipino rep. Reading this review by TheCaffeniatedRarder has made me even more excited to read The Holiday Switch!
- I was so happy that last month, Fat Chance, Charlie Vega was one of our TeaTimeReads picks. As it’s a favorite of mine, I loved revisiting this story and character that is so beloved to me. I love hearing what other people think about the books I loved, and I really enjoyed Delany’s review!
Despite reading 24 books this month, October felt like a very slow reading month for me! I had a lot of other things (family + personal things) going on, and worked late a lot of nights. I struggled to find new reads that I really enjoyed, and a large majority of the books I read this month were rereads, short stories, or ARCs. I wasn’t necessarily slumping, but I did spend a lot of time playing Animal Crossing, and just doing other things! Still, a highlight of this month was my reread of The Raven Cycle, which I did with some of my favorite blogger friends — it’s such a comfort series of mine, and I always love buddy reads! I also truly enjoyed reading an ARC of You Can Go Your Own Way by Eric Smith, as well as Before the Coffee Gets Cold, and the sequel, Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Cafe, which I read for tea time reads. Next month, I’m excited to buddy read The Dreamer Trilogy and The Scorpio Races, and to hopefully catch up on ARCs! There’s a couple of readathons that I might check out too, like Netgalley November, or ClearYourShit — otherwise, I foresee a lot of my time being sucked into Animal Crossing, rather than reading a lot!

Posts I Loved Reading:
- April’s review of This Poison Heart perfectly captures everything I loved about it, as did their review of Down Comes the Night! Both, Down Comes the Night and This Poison Heart were 5-star reads for me, and both were books I got to read early, and I just get such a rush of joy every time I see people love them!
- I’ve been meaning to listen to more audiobooks, especially as I fall down the animal crossing rabbit hole again, and I loved this rec list of 12 romance audiobooks from Jayati!
- May’s post about series’ she hasn’t read yet reminded me of how many serieses I haven’t read yet, or don’t intend to pick up!
- I haven’t spoken enough about how much I love Amanda’s quick take summaries, but I do, and this dark fantasy post is perfection!
- Admittedly, I haven’t been reading as many ~ Spooky Season ~ books this month, since I’ve been focusing on rereads and ARCs, so I really enjoyed Delaney’s rec list! I’ve been meaning to pick up Mexican Gothic forever, and I’m even more excited for it now, especially since I loved the other three books on this list.
- We Are Not Free has been on my physical TBR for a while now, and Rachel’s review of it has bumped it up — I’m hoping to pick it up next month!
- I’ve started compiling my own list of 2022 most anticipated releases, and Gauri’s post has added so many more releases to my list!
Another slow month for me this October, but I’m happy to have slowed down! If you haven’t realised, I took an extended period of leave from the blog this month as I had assignment after assignment due. However, I still managed to read 5 books this month, meeting my goal of 80 on Goodreads! To kick off this month, I decided to read some books that have been on my tbr backlog. I finally got around to reading It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey, which Cossette kept recommending to me. It was such a delightful read! I really enjoyed this romance, and I have heard such lovely things about the sequel too (which Cossette has reviewed for the blog here). I also finally read You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria and I am obsessed with it! It was such a wonderful read, and I’m itching to pick it up again. I absolutely adored everything about it, and I cannot wait to read more from this author. If you haven’t picked it up yet, I highly recommend you do. To close out my month, I reread From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love this book, and it’s actually the reason why I started taking ice skating lessons this year! It was so much fun to reread it just before my lessons started, and remind myself why I loved it in the first place. Next month I am finally free from uni, so I’m hoping to read even more then!

- This post about preparing for NaNoWriMo was so insightful, and even though I have no intention of even joining in, it was still a lovely post to read!
- Kristin has written a lovely post about their favourite book settings, and there are so many good options on here! In fact, some of these sound so wonderful I’ll have to add them to my own tbr!
Thanks so much for reading this post! Let us know in the comments below what you read this month, and what you’re looking forward to in November! Happy reading!
