Hi, hello friends! I’m so excited to be bringing you this post today, in collaboration with lovely Luce from Coffee, Cups and Books! We’ve decided it would be a lot of fun to pair some of our favourite books with different tea flavours, and you can find her post here. Seeing as our blog name is teatimelit, I am incredibly excited to bring you this post today. Without further ado, let’s get started.
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Unsurprisingly, I knew I couldn’t do this list without talking about The Night Circus. If you didn’t know by now, The Night Circus is my all time favourite book. It’s filled with wonderful imagery, scents and flavours and other magical things, which is why I thought pairing it with a tea flavour would be a lot of fun. I’ve decided to pair this one with T2’s Terrific Toffee loose leaf.
- A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey
This book is one of my favourites of the year so far. It’s incredibly comforting, cozy, and beautifully written. It’s set in Winchester, England, which is a place so incredibly close to my own heart. I’ve decided to pair this book with a classic: English Breakfast Tea. This pairing makes a lot of sense in my mind: it’s comforting and warm, just like this book is. A close second would have to be Creme Brulee from T2, as Lila is an avid baker in the book and I feel like this would be a great flavour to represent that!
- The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He
This book is another one of my favourites this year, and I’m definitely due a reread soon. This book is set in a futuristic civilisation, but I think the most compelling part about it is the parts set in or around the ocean. I’m not sure why my brain immediately pairs the ocean with Peppermint Tea, but it makes sense. This tea is fresh and cooling and gives me calming vibes like the ocean does. I definitely think this is a good pairing, but be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
- This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron
I promise that I’ll shut up about this book one day, but today is not that day. This book is phenomenal, and I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. It’s filled with lush plant life, engrossing magic and a plot that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. I think this tea pairing is an obvious one, but I’ve decided to pair it with Green Rose. I love the taste of rose tea, and it only felt fitting due to the mass amounts of flowers you see in This Poison Heart.
- You Have a Match by Emma Lord
I loved this book so much! This book is set throughout summer, so I knew I wanted to pick something refreshing and fruity to match the vibes this book gives off. Set at a summer camp, You Have a Match follows two long-lost-sisters getting to know each other, all while trying to keep it a secret from their respective families. I chose Fruitalicious Tea for this pairing, because I knew it would be a sweet and summery flavour for this book. It would be perfect served over ice, too, making it even more refreshing for that summer sun.
And there we have it! My tea pairings for five of my favourite books of the year. Be sure to let me know your thoughts below, and tell us below what tea flavour you would pair with your favourite books!

I’ve been meaning to try new types of tea, and I have to say I’ve never had peppermint or green rose tea, but they sound delicious! I’ll have to check them out!
