Wrap Up: March 2026

March 31, 2026

Happy spring, besties! I’m so glad that Orpheus finished his song and spring has come again!

Wow, what a month March was! A lot was going on this month, so let’s chat about it!

Once again, March was a slow reading month. This is the busiest month that I had so far this year, so I just really didn’t have much time to read. While 8 books is definitely a respectable number, it’s far less than I normally read. I wanted to read more, but with so much going on personally and with work, I didn’t have the time or energy to read.

It was just okay as a reading month. While I didn’t dislike anything I read this month, really, the only standout was my first March read, What We Did to Survive by Megan Lally. I also still haven’t found a 5 star read yet this year, so I think I’m also just waiting for something to really WOW me.

Books read this month:

  1. What We Did to Survive by Megan Lally (ARC, 4 stars)
  2. Chilled to the Cone by Ellie Alexander (3.5 stars)
  3. Mocha, She Wrote by Ellie Alexander (3.5 stars)
  4. How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates by Shailee Thompson (3.5 stars)
  5. Lore Olympus: Volume One by Rachel Smythe (3 stars)
  6. Lore Olympus: Volume Two by Rachel Smythe (3 stars)
  7. When The Burned the Butterfly by Wen-yi Le (3 stars)
  8. Too Old for This by Samantha Downing (3 stars)

My posts this month:

  • The Fortune Flip Book Launch Event

March was so busy! My birthday was on the 12th, and though I had work that day, I took the morning off and went out to lunch with my mom and sister and then did some book shopping before rehearsal. After that, I went to rehearsal and then came home and had a nice dinner, watching the Giants spring training game and opened presents. It was a really nice birthday and I felt really supported and appreciated, which is always so lovely!

I continued the birthday celebrations over the weekend by going to Bay FCs home opener against the Denver Summit. It was a beautiful day out (honestly, I ended up getting a tan that afternoon it was so warm and sunny 🤣) and Bay FC won their first match of the season!

The following week I went to Lauren Kung Jessen’s book event for the release of her fourth novel, The Fortune Flip, which was such a wonderful experience! I posted about it on the blog and the link to the post is in my reading and content wrap up, so check that out if you missed it!

Of course the thing that took up most of my month was rehearsals, tech and performances for Beauty and the Beast Jr.! Tech as always is long and a little stressful at times, but overall it went so well and the performances were so great! Beauty and the Beast is a story that is very close to my heart and has always been one of those bucket list shows for me — I never got to be in it as a kid, so it’s one I’ve always wanted to work on and getting to direct and choreograph the show with this specific group of kids was so special, I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’m so proud of them and all the hard work they put into the show and honestly, I’m really proud of myself as well because there were aspects of this show that really pushed me creatively!

Baseball and the NWSL officially started this month, which makes this sports loving girlie VERY happy! It’s been so fun to watch 8 NWSL matches a weekend and to get to watch baseball again. Oh, how I love the spring!

I didn’t have time for a lot of film/tv this month, but I did catch up on the latest season of The Traitors UK (still obsessed), and I also watched both the Australian and New Zealand versions of The Traitors. I finally caught up on season 3 of School Spirits and I need season 4 immediately. I watched NWSL: The Final Third which was a documentary about the last half of the season last year, following 3 teams and when they showed footage from the championship match you can see me in the shot, which is absolutely crazy! And yes, I have told everyone I know about it…

Music wise, Dinner Party by Niall Horan has been on repeat. The night the song came out I literally listened to it for 40 minutes straight. My mom is also obsessed with it and made my dad listen to it 🤣I absolutely love it and can’t wait for his 4th album of the same time to come out in June! I’ve also been listening to Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally by Harry Styles, and I’m enjoying it! The album is for sure growing on me as I keep listening, but I’ve been obsessed with American Girls since the album dropped (this song is currently the only thing that could make me feel patriotic) and I love Taste Back. I would say those two are my favorites right now, but I think the album as a whole is very fun to dance to!

There you have it! March was a whirlwind and while I’ve got some fun things coming up in April, I’m glad that the month as a whole will be slower than March was because I for sure need a little downtime!

Let me know what you read in March and what you were up to in general in the comments! I’ll be back soon with some first quarter updates!

Until next time 💜
