Wrap Up: February 2026

February 28, 2026

Taylor Swift really knew what she was doing when she wrote the lyric “all my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February”, that’s exactly what this month has felt like. I’ve come to realize that February is the worst month for me because I spend the entire month feeling like Eurydice saying “is it finished yet?” to Orpheus regarding his song that is supposed to bring back Spring. Like, hurry up and finish the song, bestie, I can only take so much more of this!

It may not be my favorite month of the year, but let’s recap February, shall we?

Wow, what a lackluster reading month for me, honestly. Not necessarily the books themselves, but my motivation and focus with reading was so incredibly low. Now, that mostly was due to the Olympics being on, but still, I just wasn’t feeling super motivated to read. I just was really struggling throughout the month in a myriad of ways, and it absolutely had an impact on my reading this month. While 6 books is not anything to scoff at, it’s my low motivation and energy to read that made this month feel so lackluster when it comes to reading. However, I am glad that of the 6 books I read this month, 3 of them were from my owned tbr, and 2 of them were on my 26 in 2026 list.

Books read this month:

  1. Audition: A Novel by Katie Kitamura (2.5 stars)
  2. The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood (3.5 stars)
  3. The Escape Game by Marissa Meyer and Tamara Moss (ARC, 4 stars)
  4. Nothing Bundt Trouble by Ellie Alexander (3.5 stars)
  5. You Are Fatally Invited by Ande Pliego (3.5 stars)
  6. A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang (3.5 stars)

My posts this month:

  • Reading Journal Update: January Spreads + February Set Up

Woof, my mental health was kind of all over the place this month. I just felt so off. That being said, there were some good things this month.

My cousin had her baby shower and it was really nice! It was great to be there and celebrate her, her husband and their baby! I did some bookstore visits this month; I went to my local Barnes & Noble a couple of times and finally got to visit the new romance bookstore near me and it’s just the cutest thing. I absolutely loved it and am excited to continue visiting and supporting them. I also got to have 2 lunch dates with my mom!

The other highlight of the month was getting a signed OBC (Original Broadway Cast) Kinky Boots playbill signed and personalized to me by Stark Sands! I’m thinking of framing it and hanging it in my room, probably next to my OBC signed & Juliet playbill — gotta keep the Stark shows together!

This month I put myself on what I call “Olympic Lockdown” and only watched the Olympics while they were on. What can I say? I love sports and I love the Olympics. My favorite events in the Winter Olympics are Figure Skating/Ice Dance (Chock and Bates are my Olympic Champions always and forever), all the Skiing and Snowboarding, Hockey (women’s hockey, to be clear), and I got really obsessed with Curling this year! I watched a lot of Curling 🤣

Otherwise, I didn’t consume much other tv/film. I did finish the latest season of The Traitors, but otherwise it was all Olympics all the time and then once the Olympics were over, finishing The Traitors and catching up on some podcasts that I missed during those 2 weeks.

Music wise, I didn’t listen to too much new stuff. My most played new songs were Drive Safe by Myles Smith and Niall Horan — none of you are shocked by this information, also none of you will be surprised to hear that I cried when I first listened to it and have had it on repeat. I’m also currently obsessed with My Regards by Maisie Peters, I can’t wait for her next album to come out.

So, there we have it. February was a bit of a dud, I won’t lie, but I’m leaving behind the negative feelings and vibes and moving forward to one of my favorite months of the year, March! I love March; aside from it being my birthday month, I always seem to have a lot of fun things going on during the month, and this year I’ve got a lot of fun things happening, so I can’t wait!

Let me know in the comments how your February went and what you read!

Until next time 💜
